The location in the heart of a very quiet residential area, at the end of a charming coastal road, makes it restful and calm. The animated holiday village at Grand Bay is only 3 km away. This little « St Trop » in Mauritius abounds with boutiques, a handsome crafts market, restaurants (Indian, Japanese, Creole, Chinese) and amusing places for evening entertainment (discotheques, cabarets).
The hotel
The address is more than 20 years old and the site was among the first tourist accommodations in Mauritius. The magic atmosphere has already charmed ¬many artists like Moustaki, Brassens … and this was where the English author John Michelet wrote his best-selling thriller "Coconut".
20° SUD is the first (and only) hotel in Mauritius that is both small and luxurious. Like the Moroccan Riads or some famous hotels in Provence, it proposes charm, intimacy and refinement.
The decoration has been chosen exclusively from the Belgian decorator FLAMANT, and the rooms offer several themes, all emphasizing the personal atmosphere that corresponds to this kind of accommodation. Every room is unique and all the objects in it were chosen separately, down to the smallest detail, for an atmosphere "just like home" that will delight those who enjoy warm, intimate lodgings.
At 20° Sud, you will be welcomed on arrival by the proprietors who are happy to be your hosts and to share their own personal paradise with you. This dynamic couple has been living in Mauritius for more than six years. Before setting up in the Indian Ocean, they managed the « Ferme des Sources » in Belgium, where they succeeded in adding a personal touch to the site in no time, to offer exceptional service, with a warm, personal welcome.
The lodgings
The hotel offers 29 rooms, situated in a coconut grove facing the sea, divided into 2 suites, 8 “Beachfront”, 19 « Charme » rooms. No two rooms are alike …
Every room is equipped with :

The two roomy Suites are on the water, with a « cozy » living room corner. They both are equipped with an outdoor Jacuzzi, and to be mentioned: bouquet of exotic flowers at arrival of our ensuite guests and, (for minimum stay of 7 nights) one free bottle of Laurent Perrier and one free massage of 30 minutes per person.
For families or groups of friends, the hotel has four Charme communicating rooms: one pair is made of 2 double rooms, the other pair made of one double and one triple.
These rooms can be sold together or separately.
Only one suite, one Beachfront and two Charme rooms offer one supplementary bed
A child or teenager can stay in the parents' room or in a communicating room.
Children less than 5 years old are not accepted in the hotel.
Animals are not accepted in the hotel.
Restaurant and entertainment

A young, talented Mauritian chef supervises the kitchen and the supplies, to offer you a variety of perfectly fresh menus.
Complementary afternoon tea is served from 4:00 to 5:00 PM with a choice of local Mauritius teas.
At the poolside bar, enjoy fresh fruit juices, traditional drinks or the house rum cocktails plus excellent French and South African wines.
Musical entertainment every night.
A dress code is required in the evening (no short, T-shirt or bare foot in the bar and the restaurant).
The Spa
This place is totally dedicated to beauty and well-being and consists of 4 massage rooms, one Turkish bath and one Jacuzzi.
A broad choice of massages and beauty treatments is proposed with the Confort Zone products as well as other beauty treatments as manicure, pedicure, waxing and teeth whitening.
Sports and services:
20° Sud has a lovely outdoor fresh water swimming pool (heated in winter) with a view of the sea. The hotel enjoys a small, private white sand beach with deck chairs and thatch kiosks. Swimming is excellent. Beach towels are supplied to clients.
The hotel is a perfect location for windsurfers and catamaran lovers: a huge bay sheltered from the waves with a continual breeze all year long!

20° Sud is also an excellent starting point to discover Mauritius. The Grapefruit Garden and Sugar Museum are just 15 min away by car, the huge Mont Choisy beach is only 5 min and Port Louis a 30 min drive.
