The Golf - Course Layout Designed by Rodney Wright, Tamarina
18-hole Championship Golf Course is unmatched by its layout, location and
beauty. This Par 72 challenging course undulates over 43 hectares of rugged
savannah land framed with mature trees and crossed by the Rempart River. The
landscaping of holes and surrounds has been contracted to an international team
and the holes have been specially designed to give spectacular views of Mount
Rempart and the towering mountain range. Some holes have great views over the
crisp blue Tamarin Bay. Golfers will love the contrast between the rough
surroundings and the smoothness of the rolling greens and wide fairways that
adds to the experience of Tamarina Golf Course.
Playing 6800 metres from the Professional tees, the course is laid out with
standard four par 3's and four par 5's with remaining holes as par 4's. Each
hole offers five different teeing options, catering for all level of golfers:
Professional, Championship, Club, Senior/Ladies Championship and Ladies tees.
Tamarina greens are according to US specification: they are made of a special
imported Ultradwarf Bermuda grass called "Champion" which is used successfully
in similar climates in Texas. Fairways and tees are Tif Green 328 Bermuda grass
that is used on greens elsewhere in the world. Greens are irrigated with a
state of the art "Rainbird" system backed up and supplied by a "Watertronics"
pump system installed on the golf course. The landscaping grasses include
Fataque, Citronella, Red Grass, Sikine, Vetiver and Lemon Grass. A fantastic
300-metre practice range is also provided with large putting greens and
chipping and bunker facilities.
Due to the climate and the nature of the terrain, golfers, villa residents -
who are automatically members of the golf club - and their guests are urged to
use golf carts throughout the course. Golfers will be shown to their designated
rented carts, which are equipped with a GPS system. Over 6km of concrete golf
cart paths have been designed for the comfort of the golfer and a refreshment
cart is available on the no-stopping course.

golfer's dream with gentle breezes and the lowest average rainfall of the
island!
Tamarina Estate is located near the village of Tamarin, 25 km south of the
capital Port-Louis and 45 minute drive from the island's airport.
Shopping Tamarina offers two retail outlets for
golfers and residents. The Pro Shop provides the necessary in terms of golf
apparel while the Tamarina Boutique provides a convenient alternative for your
day-to-day needs.
The Pro Shop
The Pro Shop at the Clubhouse caters for a wide range of golf-associated
products, including leading brand golf apparel, clothing and accessories for
both men and women. Exclusive brands such as Titleist, Cobra, Scotty Cameron,
Callaway, Wilson, White Hot, FootJoy, Greg Norman, Cutter and Buck, Puma,
Fairway and Greene, Sunderland are available.
The shop is open seven days a week from 6.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m
The Tamarina Boutique L'Épicerie provides a quick shop
facility for all residents of Tamarina. You'll find there your daily newspaper,
magazines and stationary. Household and toiletry items are also readily
available along with a range of foodstuffs: pastas, wines, sweets, chocolates,
olives, chips, pastries, bread, eggs, butter, milk, coffee, tea, artisanal ice
cream, juices and snacks, such as energy bars, nuts and cold drinks. Tamarina
branded aprons, cloths and napkins sold at the boutique can make lovely
household gifts.
Villa residents can benefit from the service delivery to villas or place their
order at the Estate Boutique for in-villa catering or prepared meals.

Restaurants and Bars
The clubhouse restaurant, "le
Dix-Neuf", is open 7 days a week and serves breakfast from 7.00 a.m. and
lunch everyday. Light snacks are available until 7.00 p.m.
Dinner: the restaurant opens for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights only
Menu is light contemporary food with a Mauritian flair, with a well-chosen wine list to accompany your meal
La Madrague - Restaurant and Bar at Tamarina Beach Club La Madrague Restaurant and Beach Club Bar
offers spectacular views over Tamarin Bay, famous for surfing and dolphins. La
Madrague is well-known for its fresh seafood menu which is served 7 days a
week. If you enjoy a cold sun downer then make sure you book a table to enjoy
the relaxed atmosphere and the stunning views while the sun sets right before
your eyes.
Open from 10 a.m from 7 p.m. and for dinner on
reservation. La Madrague can be booked for private functions
on request.
The Beach Club With its breathtaking views of Tamarin
Bay and set around a large swimming pool, the Beach Club provides an
alternative to the golf club. The restaurant La Madrague at the Beach Club
proposes fresh fish and seafood menu. Stylish and cosy, it will be the perfect
place to meet and relax at the beach. Access is restricted to golf cart
shuttles from the villas or the club.
The Beach Club is the final touch to the already magnificent setting of
Tamarina Estate.
