Port Louis is the Capital of Mauritius and its only port; enchanting in
its diversity. There, modern buildings stand next to traditional Creole houses,
the market abounds with exotic fruits, vegetables and spices, vendors will
tempt you with garments at unbelievable prices.
The China
town will fascinate you by its atmosphere, its characteristic smells and its
shops filled with curios. But you might well prefer to visit one of its famous
jewellery shops.
In Port Louis, you will find temples,
mosques, churches and old military fort dating from the days of
English colonisation, and offering you a superb view of the city and the
harbour.
At lunchtime you can
choose

which you can enjoy in the Veranda of a genuine Colonial house "Eurêka", now converted
into a museum, ten minutes from town.

Botanical Garden created
in the XVIIIth Century by Pierre Poivre. Your guide will tell you
all of the garden which ranks among the most famous of its kind in the world.
