This park can only be visited in a safari bus of 25 seats. The visit lasts 30 minutes. Departures are scheduled every half hour on a first come first serve basis except if there was pre-booking.

Yemen
Yemen, domain found between the mountain of Tamarin and the Trois Mamelles, is home to two of the longest rivers of the island: Rempart and Tamarin.
The name of Yemen dates back the 19C when Father de La Butte owned the place.
The sugar activity of the domain Yemen stopped in 1880, 30 years after absorbing small estates such as Walhalla, Carsenac and Magenta.
At this time, they were also farming arabica coffee and aloe vera on the domain, the only remaining being the ruins of the spinning mills.
Medine bought the domain in the beginning of 70’s.
The actual dimension of the domain is of 4500 hectares.
The visitor may appreciate, during his visit, the beautiful sight of Java deer (approx. 9000 heads for a national population of 60 000 heads) roaming freely the grassy savannah. But wild boards, hares, monkeys, mongoose and the famous Mauritian fruit bat can also be seen during the outing.
Indigenous and exotic plants beautify the domain.
They are:
· Eucalyptus introduced from Australia to dry up the swamps
· Ebony trees, almost extinct thanks to the Dutch settlers (1500-1700)
· Bois Noir, used to make furniture
· Cassia trees, rich in protein, a delicacy for the Java deer
· Baobabs introduced from Madagascar
· Tamarinds with its sweet and sour fruits
· Pink pepper trees, introduced from Brazil by Pierre Poivre (around 1735) and from which 10 tons of pepper are harvest each
year in April and May.

2. The walking trail
It is organised during the Via Ferrata outing
Team: Manu, Michel, Doumé and Rudy
The name Via Ferrata comes from the Italian “railway” to describe an itinerary drawn on a cliff with the help of metallic elements that reminds of a railway.
The outing lasts a full day.
On the first part, there is a mountain and cliff circuit that takes place along a lifeline with wooden ladder, metallic steps and wood bridge.
Absailing allows the participant to come back at the bottom of the mountain where a walking trail brings them to the second part of the day.
It is the river, ponds, waterfall and swim circuit.
To achieve this circuit, the participants have to cross a few ponds by Nepalese bridge, absailing and zip line with arrival in the water.
The excursion ends at the 3rd pond where picnic and grill can be organised.
Parts of the circuit have been spiced up by a high absailing (around 80 metres) and crossings of abyss.
All along the day, the team proposes a real tour guide of the fauna and flora of Yemen...
