Ile des Deux Cocos (Islet)
South East - Blue Bay
To the south, are dramatic views of the ocean, pounding against the reefs, providing an ever-changing spectacle. On its north coast, white sandy beaches border the Blue Bay Maritime Reserve, one of the best places for snorkelling in Mauritius, with superb corals and a wonderful array of brightly coloured tropical fish.

Native vegetation have been planted on the island in recent years and guests can walk around the island or just laze under palm trees and filaos, watching the sparkling ocean by day or the twinkling lights of Blue Bay at night.

But this is not just an outstandingly beautiful, private island. The tone is set by a small villa, built more than a century ago by the then British Governor, Sir Hesketh Bell, who used it for entertaining. He created a magical place.

Nowadays, the island, on the southeast coast of Mauritius is a popular destination for day excursions and for incentive activities. The whole island can also be reserved for overnight stays.

A day on Ile des Deux Cocos, ten minutes from the airport, has been the highlight of many visitors’ stay in Mauritius and it is a trip not to be missed.
Guests are greeted at the jetty with refreshing towels and welcoming drinks. There is then time to go for a swim or a snorkel, laze on the beach or walk along little paths that meander through the woodland.

The buffet lunch features delicious grills and salads, cooked in the open, with tables in the open air and tents with deep settees to relax in. Beer, wine and soft drinks flow freely, whilst local musicians sing and strum on their guitars. After more swimming, strolling or lazing around, the day is rounded off with homemade rum’s tasting.

There are special transport arrangements from all Naïade’s hotels. The trip by speed boat launch from Le Tropical is a 45-minute trip along the east coast or, alternatively, the island, is accessible by boat from the jetty facing the island (5-minute trip in a shuttle boat).

Incentives
The totally secluded nature of the island, the personal service and the magical setting make the place highly suitable for special events and incentive activities.

During the daytime, we arrange various team-building activities. Teams are formed and meet each other in beach-volley competitions, underwater treasure hunts or circuits around the island.
There are also relaxing moments, snorkelling over the coral, on the beach or under the shade of the coconut palms and filaos.
Groups can even be met on arrival at the airport and have breakfast on the island whilst their baggage is taken to one of our hotels (the island is ten minutes away from the airport).

Naïade Resorts specialises in providing themed evenings for incentive groups. At night, the Villa is lit up, with the atmosphere of a Moroccan riyad, where guests sip their cocktails.

Whatever the theme - Angels and Devils, Yin and Yang, Pirates, the Eighties, Arabian nights - we create magical evenings, rounded off by fireworks, with reflections sparkling across the surface of the lagoon. Events take place in Moroccan tents or at the water’s edge, with torchlight-illuminated pathways.
We are also happy to work on your own ideas for a unique evening and our talented chefs will devise and prepare a feast to match any theme. Our musicians and singers are also happy to add a contemporary, mystical or tropical touch to the evening if required. There is, quite simply, nowhere else like Ile des Deux Cocos anywhere in Mauritius!

Villa
There is no building like it in Mauritius. Sir Hesketh Bell was a flamboyant character, at once an eccentric and a man of vision. The Villa (250 m²) is a real architectural folly, a clever mix of British and Moorish architecture with a Mauritian-style interior.

Now completely renovated, but with the original concepts scrupulously retained, the Villa combines contemporary comfort with the elegance of days gone by. There is a delightful little Moroccan-style courtyard, with a fountain and palm trees, and it is easy to become part of this dream world.

The Villa can be visited by those on a daytrip and incentive groups sip their evening cocktails in the courtyard or around the villa’s small swimming pool. But it also possible to stay for a night or two (or more).

Staying Overnight
The two bedrooms’ Villa with one dining room, one lounge, a patio and a bathroom, is the perfect escape, with beautiful surroundings, complete privacy and modern comforts.
The island and the Villa can be all yours. Naïade’s special package includes all meals and non-alcoholic drinks. A housekeeper, valet and cook discreetly look after guests and water transport is permanently available. Contact with the outside world can be maintained by radio or satellite phone. A range of extras is also available.

The Villa can sleep one couple or a family with two children.
